Shaideth Empire

The Shaideth Empire is a fragment of the old Srothi empire that managed to survive its collapse. Its current ruler, the Sthianan Lhadenakh, is a ruthless expansionist with dreams of re-establishing the old Srothi empire and establishing the Shaideth as the fifth Great Empire.

The Shaideth banner has a black background with a white ring encircling nine stars. The nine stars represent the nine Srothic enclaves that united to establish the empire.

The Shaideth have a reputation for brutality that surpasses even their Srothi forbears. Among other things, they have been known to build towers out of the skulls of defeated enemies; these tall, thin levitated spires are actually mostly comprised of core steel and cast rock, but their surface is set with severed heads that eventually decompose to leave only the skulls.

The Shaideth military is similar in composition to the old Srothi military, albeit with a higher proportion of infantry due to the more sedentary lifestyle and extensive cultural mixing of the modern Shaideth; the Shaideth are not pure Srothi in any meaningful sense, but still glorify that part of their heritage as a means of justifying their excessive militarism. The Shaideth are exemplary in both mobility and firepower. Shaideth detachments can redeploy hundreds of miles literally overnight. Shaideth snipers are feared everywhere, and their synchronized sniping techniques can wipe out entire squads without warning.

Much like the Srothi, the Shaideth depend heavily on the military skills of its leaders. The Sthianan Lhadenakh appears to be very talented in this regard, and this is probably part of the reason for their recent upsurge in aggression.
